Benefits & Prevention of Holistic Massage
What You May Not Know About The Whole System Benefits of Massage Therapy

System by System I wrote this course to educate the therapist about the many benefits that are more than just skin deep, and now I would like to pass it on to you.
Systems Are In Order Of Cause and Effect Of Massage Therapy
The Integumentary System (The Skin).
Creating heat to the skin can effect the receptors
Friction gently coaxes the surface layer of the skin to help the skin regenerate vital protection and immunities Help nerve endings extend to the surface by exercising them with sensation and stimuli
Creates fluidity of sebaceous glands to help them from becoming obstructed
Creates blood flow through the heat of friction and has a positive direct influence on vasodilation
The Nervous System
Stimulates the nervous system through receptors
Possible stimulation of spinal nerves through manipulation of restricted tissue Possible stimulation of organs through spinal nerves
Creates better nerve flow in restricted areas
Circulatory System
During increased blood volume there is a increase venous return ,increased stroke volume ,increased cardiac output and increased arterial blood pressure which you are exercising during a massage - The following hormones may also be effected. Renin-angiotensin-aldosterone, Epinephrine and norephinephrine, antidiuretic hormone, atrial natriuretic peptide, parathyroid hormone and calciferol

Lymphatic / Immune System
Movement of the lymph helps the relationship between the circulatory system and the lymph Better movement keeps system cleanser and more effecient
Helps the movement of lipids and the vitamins A- D - E and K transport
Muscular System
Better blood flow for recovery
Creates fluidity in both fascia and muscle tissue Great after hard workouts when blood flow engorges muscle Reduces pain from trigger points
Enables better range of motion and contractibility
Skeletal System
Because of its effect on range of motion and contractility of the muscular system massage encourages bone strength through muscle strength as well as better postural alignment
Reduction of osteoporosis because Vitamin D is circulating more properly Better immune system
Respiratory System
As a secondary prevention the vasodilation of the circulatory system will aid in oxygen
and de-oxygenated blood to circulate faster and clean the system out with more effeciency.
With the release of the Arm Axial area better expansion of the lungs can create larger intakes of oxygen
Endocrine System
Secondary Prevention
Blood transportation and detoxification Calming of the nervous system
Digestive System
With abdominal massage - to help peristalsis
Jaw and neck release for comfort while chewing
Calming of the nervous system to help endocrine system with homeostasis
Urinary System
Secondary effects for circulation of waste product to encourage faster transport Lowering Blood Pressure to eliminate stress on Kidney Interrelationship between Endocrine and Urinary for Diabetes
Reproductive System
Better transport of hormones
Calming of Nervous and in turn more efficient endocrine system Possible Calcium and Copper control from menopausal women malabsorption Gluteal Tps creating erectile disfunction
